Si tiene 65 años o más y lleva 20 años o más como residente permanente, solo necesita estudiar 20 preguntas, y puede tomar el examen en español.
Si tiene 65 años o más y ha sido residente permanente legal por 20 años o más, solo estudia las 20 preguntas marcadas con asterisco. El oficial le hace 10 de esas 20 y aprueba con 6. Puede tomar el examen de educación cívica en el idioma que prefiera. Si toma el examen de educación cívica en su idioma, debe llevar un intérprete a la entrevista. El intérprete debe hablar con fluidez inglés y su idioma.
